Framer and the template
Do I need a paid Framer plan?
No, the free plan is enough to remix, edit and publish on a Framer address. For your own domain, Framer requires a paid site plan.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You work in the Framer editor and the plugin, both without code. This guide explains every step.
Can I use the template in another language?
Yes. Simply overwrite the English copy. A second language through Framer's localization is only available on plans that include languages. On the free plan, an extra language blocks publishing.
Do I get updates?
Yes, updates are included. New versions are available through your remix link, and we email you about larger updates. A copy you have already remixed does not change by itself. Take over only what you need.
Can I use the template for client work?
Yes, for as many of your own or client sites as you like. You may not resell or pass on the template itself. Details are in the license.
Checkout and Stripe
What does the checkout cost?
$9.90 a month per site, plus tax where it applies. No commission. Test mode is free. More under plan and pricing.
Do you take a commission?
No. Stripe charges its usual fees on each payment directly in your account. We get none of it.
Do you see my customers' data?
Never card details, only Stripe handles those. Orders, payments and customer details live in your Stripe account. Our checkout service passes the cart on to Stripe, checks your plan and your site's address on the way. What it processes is set out in the privacy policy.
Which payment methods are available?
The ones Stripe offers in your country and that you enable in the Stripe dashboard, for example card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Whether TWINT is available to you is shown in Stripe's payment method settings.
Can I cancel my plan at any time?
Yes, with no notice period, with "Cancel plan" in the plugin. The plan ends immediately, and for the unused time of the current period you get a pro-rata refund, minus Stripe's fees. Tax you paid is refunded pro rata too. More under plan and pricing.
What happens if I end my plan?
Your site stays online and test mode keeps working. Only the live checkout stops accepting payments. Once you subscribe again, it reopens right away.
Is VAT added to the plan?
It depends on your billing address. Not in Switzerland. Private customers in the EU pay their country's VAT, and businesses with a valid VAT number can enter it at checkout. Stripe calculates the amount, and you see it before you pay. More under plan and pricing.
Can I sell subscriptions with the checkout?
Yes. Set the CMS field Billing Interval to Week, Month or Year. Subscriptions and one-off products can be in the cart together. Your customers cancel themselves through "Manage your subscription". More under subscriptions for your customers.
How do shipping costs work?
In the plugin you set shipping countries, a fixed shipping price, a free shipping threshold and, if you like, free pickup. "Update cart buttons" shows the same values in the cart. More under shipping, tax and options.
Are there variants and stock tracking?
Variants yes: enter sizes or pack sizes in the CMS field Variants, each with its own price. There is no stock counter. When something runs out, switch on Sold Out (or mark a variant with sold out) and it can no longer be bought. More under update products.
Does the checkout work with another Framer project?
The plugin works with any CMS collection that has a name and a price. The kspr studio shop templates come with a cart. In your own project the plugin adds it for you with "Set up shop", together with "Add to bag" and the thank-you page. More under without a template.
Agencies and freelancers
I build sites for clients. How does billing work?
All sites run on one plan with the matching quantity. Each site connects your client's Stripe account, so the money goes straight to them.
Can I hand a project over to my client?
Yes, Framer projects can be transferred to another account. If you hand over a copy instead, first choose "Forget or delete this checkout…" in the plugin menu and then "Forget in this project". The copy then sets up its own checkout. What happens to the plan on a handover will be added here.
